Vision 2025 is the largest set of public redevelopment projects in the history of Tulsa County. However, these projects will not, in themselves, build the best of what citizens hope the community will become. The Vision 2025 Projects were selected to provide infrastructure as incentive for private enterprise to leverage the public investment to accomplish economic growth throughout Tulsa County. This section of vision2025.info is reserved for those private sector and municipal developments not directly funded by Vision 2025, but which add to the community in significant ways. The project list available on this page provides more information on each of the following:
Oklahoma Centennial Botanical Garden/Research and Education Center
The Oklahoma Centennial Botanical Garden/Research and Education Center will have a major economic impact on Tulsa and the State of Oklahoma. It promises to be one of the major gardens in North America, with its 300 acres of rolling hills, picture-perfect scenery, education and research facilities and sweeping view of downtown Tulsa.
"The American"
Oklahoma sculptor Shan Gray and his team are set to build "The American," a 17-story bronze sculpture in the Tulsa area. And community leaders are hopeful it will become one of the main tourist destinations in the region.
"This monument encompasses all the elements of the economic opportunities we are striving to attract with Vision 2025," said Mayor Bill LaFortune. "It greatly enhances our potential to bring in more tourism, more event s, and it is very positive for our existing venues, such as our museums and the Tulsa Zoo."
The project list available above provides more information on each project.
