Arena - Pelli Interview - KOTV

Tulsa Arena Design Architect Interview

Cesar Pelli, FAIA, one of the world’s most honored architects, will lead design for Tulsa’s new arena and renewal of the existing convention center. Pelli is winner of the American Institute of Architects Gold Medal, the highest honor of all AIA awards and designed the world’s tallest buildings, the twin tower/multi-use complex which includes a large convention center at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In an exclusive interview by KOTV Channel 6, Pelli discusses the project and his design goals for this signature Tulsa facility.

Cesar Pelli established Cesar Pelli & Associates, Inc. in New Haven, Connecticut in 1977 following his appointment as Dean of the School of Architecture at Yale University and after an already distinguished architectural career. Fred Clarke is also a founding member of the firm and has been a Principal since 1981. A New York office was established in 2000. Between the two offices, the firm has 104 employees. Work for the Tulsa Arena project will be done from the New Haven office.
